Description:
This house in the center of Tokyo is the home of a couple. The building area is only 18.84 square meters. Despite occupying a very small plot of land, they are able to live a prosperous and fulfilling life. The design incorporates two skylights of different sizes and heights, allowing direct sunlight and moonlight to pour into the room, creating a dynamic atmosphere that reflects the changing seasons.
Within this compact Tokyo residence, residents can experience the passage of seasons firsthand. They enjoy an open-air bath on the bath terrace, taking in hot, cold, sunny, rainy, and snowy days every day. The garden features plants that can be seen from the dining space facing the street, blending indoor and outdoor living seamlessly.
Collected LP records and books are lined up throughout the house, emphasizing a love for music and literature. The couple's philosophy is not to minimize their space but to maximize abundance, making the most of every corner. At the end of the large window is a private road accessible to local residents, adding a sense of community to their living environment.
The garden is designed with a life road, serving both as a pathway and a planting area. Neighbors often talk about gardening, walking their dogs, and children frequently look into this small house with curiosity and interest, fostering a close-knit neighborhood atmosphere.
